“Art goes Kapakka” ( 2012 - Present )

This project began in 2012 with our pursuit of a wholly analog approach to the identity design, accomplished by creating the entire identity by hand without the use of machines. This objective has remained integral to the project every year since then.

Despite being one of the most challenging projects we have undertaken, it has been thoroughly enjoyable. We have created the identity using a range of media, including paint, ink, and even chalk. One memorable instance involved transporting two 125 x 225 cm plywood boards and several cases of beer and chalk to Toni's home for the weekend, resulting in the completion of the identity by the following Monday.

On another occasion, we transformed the identity into a painting using paint and brushes, an experience we enjoyed so much that we did it again the following year for the 25th anniversary celebration. The "Laughing Gull" painting now hangs on the wall of Sofia Helsinki.

One time we proposed creating the identity entirely on white sand, such as that is found on beautiful deserted beaches, but this idea didn’t fly. Therefore, either did we.

The identity has consistently included the same set of elements each year, such as the logo, colors, typography, posters, signs, websites, t-shirts, banderols, invitations, outdoor ads, and so on.

In conclusion, we find these projects to be outstanding, and we look forward to producing more.

”AGK-2018_Alternative”

This one is a personal favorite. Visual identity concept for Art goes Kapakka 2018. Although we ended up taking a different route, this is still the one that got away.
